This is my first semester teaching five different courses. My 5:5 load in the past included at least a couple duplicates. In response to the format, I have altered the deliverables considerably.
In the past I assigned a suite of quizzes, primary source labs, response papers, and discussion board posts. This semester I still have quizzes but I am trying something new--film critiques. Primary source labs remain an important part of my courses, but they are now group and class activities that reinforce weekly learning. They are no longer graded.
